An Introduction to the importance of Chakras in Modern Postural Yoga
7 workshops focusing on the 7 wheels.

These series of workshops examine each cakra in detail. They will look into each psycho-energetic vortex which form major yogic “organs” of the body that are composed of life energy – Prana.

Cakra – derived from the verbal root “car” which means to move. It is with this in mind that in Yogasana and in particulary the method of Vinyasa Krama, it is essential to be aware of the importance of these wheels in an embodied hatha yoga practice and its teaching.

Each workshop includes all four practical aspects of Astanga Yoga – asana, pranayama, dhyana and mantra. It also highlights, colours, sounds, elements, deities and glands that are associated to each padma(lotus).

Svādisthāna cakra – wheel of the self base
The sacral chakra is connected to: intimacy, relationships, sharing, sexuality, reproduction and the unconscious self.
The workshop includes all four practical aspects of Astanga Yoga – asana, pranayama, dhyana and mantra. It also highlights, colours, sounds, elements, deities and glands that are associatde to each padma(lotus).
