The Intimacy & Art of Vinyasa with Troy Hadeed

The practice of yoga holds at its very core involves the threads of mindfulness, meditation, breath extension, concentration and presence. However, in the world of yoga today many of those elements have been lost and are often considered to be separate from asana practice. Our vinyasa practice in many ways has become habitual, mechanical, rushed, and disconnected from the mindfulness and presence that yoga is meant to cultivate.

In this vinyasa practice we will look at our relationship to the breath and how we can make our vinyasa practice a pranayama practice. With concentrated focus and intention we will aim to remove the automation that has creeped in and discover a new intentional approach to vinyasa that holds the power to unleash many new dimensions to our practice.

These new dimensions will not only help us develop more strength and control, but as we bring more intention and intimacy to our practice we also have a look at the impact it can have on how we live our lives, our relationships and ultimately the living embodiment of yoga.

While this is a strong practice that will be both physically and mentally challenging, practitioners are encouraged to modify and rest as needed. This remains an all level practice but prior experience is recommended. There will be a short discussion and lecture before practice.
