Beyond Flex-ability
WITH REBECCA HANNAH & DR IMELDA J.
Dates: 9 - 11 May 2025
OVERVIEW
Strengthen your flexibility, expand your potential, and transform your practice from the inside out.
Through breath practice, Beyond Flex-ability will explore how our nervous systems respond to stress and trauma, which helps us identify the aspects of ourselves that we subconsciously shield and resist. With this inner awareness, we can cultivate a safe and nurturing environment to engage more deeply in our physical practice in an enjoyable, creative, and personalised manner.
Course Information
This approach will include:
How to assess and understand different body types and restrictions
Intention/goal setting and how to create a personalised program for your students/personal practice
Polyvagal Theory and Neuro Spinal Integration (NSI) breath practice
A vocabulary of flexibility/mobility drills/modifications and advancements
Assisting and adjusting with a particular focus on flexibility, private classes and partner based assists
The creative use of props and how they can be used to both modify and advance postures
Therapeutic assists inspired by myofascial release techniques
The Art of Transitions and the importance of moving in and out of poses with a sense of control, fluidity and ease.

LEAD TEACHERS
Rebecca Hannah:
Rebecca was introduced to yoga through physical theatre and performance. She trained in Ashtanga, Hatha moving her interests to martial arts, Tripsichore Yoga Choreography, calisthenics, mobility, and Kids and Teen Yoga training. Rebecca has taught worldwide, in over 16 different countries. Her own personal practice includes integrating vinyasa with contortion, mobility, calisthenics, and contemporary dance. Rebecca teaches with a rich interdisciplinary approach, exploring the importance of building strength to support flexibility using movement as a tool for mindfulness, communication, creativity and self-expression.
Dr Imelda J:
A medically trained yoga teacher, a movement creator at heart. She has spent over a decade practicing with the best teachers in the world. Her teaching methods combine Anatomy and Physiology with yoga practices to empower students & yoga teachers to understand movements from a more science-informed perspective.
Her classes always feel fun, challenging and grounding. Her flow is intellectually sequenced based on Myofascial Meridian lines with the goal to retract compensatory movements, restore our natural alignment, and to balance strength, mobility, and flexibility. Open for all levels who enjoy sweaty and super creative movements. Have fun! You are in great hands.
“Our bodies collect emotional signatures, yoga practice to me is to harmonise energies, allowing the subconscious to be seen and understood. The body benefits from movements, the mind benefits from stillness”
