OVERVIEW
Groundwork and Elevation Training
Inverted State of Mind presents its first London 50-HR two-part teacher training.
This immersive training unfolds over two weekends, offering a comprehensive dive into both the foundational principles and advanced techniques of asana, adjustments, and flexibility and mobility training. This training is geared towards teachers looking to expand their knowledge and skillset and, in turn, their offering, but it is open to practitioners who have been practising consistently for a minimum of 2 years. More on the training requirements at the bottom of the page.
Part one lays the groundwork towards understanding the principles of skill development, strength, flexibility and mobility training protocols and how we can start to understand and remedy obstacles in our yoga practice and, in turn, with our students. We will work through positions such as middle splits and look at how to assess the position in students and understand where is tight and/or weak and how to work towards opening into the position or expanding it, as well as how to develop our overhead shoulder range for inversions and backbends.
Part two is the integration and expansion of part one, elevating in inversions, transitions and backbends. This part of the training will look into handstands, backbends, transitions, and advanced inversions and adjustments. Here, we will be focusing more on the practitioner's practice whilst also still incorporating how to guide and assist students when they are ready through some of the more advanced postures.
To get the most out of it, we highly recommend booking both trainings. The trainings have been separated to make them more accessible without taking too much time out of work and to give space for integration before moving deeper. Equally, if you are only able to do part one or two, we are happy to have you join for a single training session.

Advanced assists - Learning how to spot, support, and cue your students into their inversions and other int./adv. postures safely and effectively.

LEAD TEACHER
Miles Mortensen
Miles has been around movement, health, and yoga all of his life. Growing up with a mother who was a yoga teacher allowed him to be introduced to the practice and its philosophy from a young age. Although, it wasn’t until his early twenties that he began to dive deeper into the realms of yoga - when he moved from his hometown of Sydney, Australia to London, to pursue a career as a DJ. After spending 6 years running around London and Europe DJing, throwing parties, and running a record label, movement and yoga started to creep back into his life. Shortly after he found himself heading to India to complete his 200-HR in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
