Slow Down Friday with Norman Blair

norman blair.jpg

Cherish this precious chance to slow down and soften with an extended Yin yoga practice led by Norman Blair, one of the most experienced Yin teachers in UK.

Many of us lead demanding and difficult lives. We can seem like graceful water birds: gliding serenely on the surface but in fact paddling frantically below to stay afloat. Often what we require most is space where we can rest and release the tensions that we all carry.

The Yin yoga practice is centred around floor-based postures, which are held for several minutes using props as supports. Doing this practice for 2.5 hours, mindfully bending and gently moving, can be remarkably rejuvenating for our body-mind-heart.

Norman has been practicing yoga since the early 1990s and started teaching in 2001. He has years of experience in teaching yin yoga and weaves into this wonderful practice his own background of ashtanga and buddha-dharma meditation to create a potent mix that is soothing, grounding and inspiring.

He sees yoga as a beautiful way of being that will enhance your life, welcome you back to your body, release habitual tension and encourage a greater focus and quality of mind. He has trained with teachers such as Hamish Hendry, Judith Lasater, Richard Freeman, Alaric Newcombe and Sarah Powers.
