Discover the Power of Yoga: A Beginner Yoga Workshop with Sabina Ahmadov

In this 3 hour stand-alone workshop, we will explore the basic principles of yoga, giving you grounding in some key yoga postures. We will start with breathwork, the integral building block for healthy movement. Then, look into some common compensation patterns which restrict full diaphragmatic breath and explore how to successfully release these restrictions and compensations.

We will explore the importance of alignment and break things down to basics so you can appreciate the postures in your own body, working with feeling and connecting to sensations. Sun Salutations can be daunting and confusing, so we will spend time breaking down the postures in Sun Salutations and work on how to successfully incorporate breath into movement. This will include extra emphasis on Chaturanga and the modifications to work with in order to transition in a way that it strengthening rather than detrimental for your shoulders.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with an existing practice who are looking to revisit some of the building blocks of yoga asana (postures).
