THE INVERTED STATE®
Inversion Immersion
WITH MILES MORTENSEN
30 January - 1 February (Limited to 25 people)
OVERVIEW
The Inverted State is a 20-hour immersion into the world of handstands and pincha.
It’s built for practitioners and teachers who want a clearer understanding of inversions — from technique and shoulder mechanics to the reasoning behind the drills you use.
Across the training, we break down the fundamentals of handstand and pincha, look at movement mechanics, strength, balance, and explore how to work with your own ranges.
You’ll learn what actually matters when you’re upside down, and how to approach your practice with more confidence and direction.
This immersion is practical, direct, and designed to help you improve your technique, understand your body, and train smarter — without overcomplicating anything.

Eligibility and Prerequisite
This immersive will be an inclusive space for practitioners to learn and play. However, we require that you be comfortable exploring a range of arm balances, inversions, backbends, and transitions and willing to work with free-standing kicks to handstand in the middle of the room. It will be a demanding weekend of physical practice and learning. We will implement recovery time and protocols, but we also want you to walk in feeling confident and willing to put in the work to develop your practice.
Not suitable for complete beginners — you must be able to kick up to the wall and hold for at least 20 seconds.
Accreditation
The training is counted towards the 20-Hour through the Yoga Alliance.
20 Hours Continuing Education digital certificate will be provided to teachers after completion of the full training. All the modules must be attended in order to receive the certificate.
The course is open to practitioners who are not Yoga teachers but would like to advance their practice.

The importance of booking in advance
We kindly encourage participants to make their bookings well in advance. Early registrations play a vital role in ensuring that our training programs can proceed as scheduled. To confirm and plan each course effectively, we generally require a sufficient number of bookings at least two months prior to the start date.
Delaying a booking until closer to the course date may unfortunately result in cancellation if minimum numbers are not met—something we always hope to avoid, as it can be disappointing for everyone involved.
If you are interested in a course, your advance booking is greatly appreciated. It not only supports the successful delivery of the program but also helps create an enjoyable and well-organised experience for all participants.
Thank you sincerely for your understanding and support!
LEAD TEACHER
Miles Mortensen
Miles has been immersed in movement, creativity, and yoga for as long as he can remember, first introduced to the practice by his mother, a yoga teacher.
Growing up in Sydney, he spent his early years surfing and living the classic beachside lifestyle before shifting his focus toward electronic music and DJing.
This passion led him to London, where he studied music production and pursued his career as a Dj.
After several years moving through London and Europe’s nightlife world, yoga naturally began to re-enter his life in a deeper, more meaningful way.
What began as a return to familiar practices evolved into a growing commitment, leading him to explore meditation, study philosophy, and refine his movement discipline.
His journey eventually carried him to India, where he completed his 200-hour Ashtanga and Vinyasa training and discovered the dynamic energy of Rocket Yoga.
Teaching awakened the same creative spark he once felt behind the decks, giving him a new channel for expression and connection.
Today he blends yoga, music, and storytelling into an experience that encourages play, curiosity, and internal exploration.
His classes weave breath, rhythm, and movement into a cohesive journey that reflects both tradition and innovation.
From this evolution emerged Inverted State of Mind, Miles’ global expression of his path – a fusion of practice, sound, and creative perspective he now shares worldwide.
