In our increasingly demanding world, we sleep, but do we ever really rest? With mini computers in our pockets, ʻsocialʼ media, emails and notifications constantly demand our attention. Space to unplug and reconnect with our-self is lost amongst the noise of life.
Nourish yourself with this soothing practice. Experience the art and magic of deep rest in this mini retreat, designed to leave you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and restored. Melt your body, mind and soul with the practice of Restorative Yoga followed by Yoga Nidra (meaning yoga sleep). Allow your-self to totally unfurl and drift away into deep relaxation, as you marinate in stillness.
We will enjoy the sensation of being carried by the props and being held peacefully still in decadent postures that deeply calm the nervous system, to truly release body, mind and soul, as we float softly into the meditative practice of Yoga Nidra.
Restorative yoga is derived from the healing postures of Iyengar yoga. The body is fully supported using props to soothe the nervous system and provide a deeper relaxation than sleep. In this state the body can fully rest, heal and restore. The ancient art of Yoga Nidra offers a similar experience to hypnosis, allowing mind and body to relax deeply whilst fully conscious.
Michele was blessed to be one of the last to train as a Kundalini teacher with Yogi Bhajan in 2004. Shortly after, whilst teaching in London she met her long-term teacher Stewart Gilchrist. Since completing her RYT500 she continues to study the healing and transformative power of touch, through regularly assisting him. After inducing a spontaneous remission from cancer through a live plant based diet and her yoga practice, she became particularly interested in the healing aspects of yoga and trained in therapeutics as an Advanced Level Restorative teacher with Judith Lasater.
This workshop is inclusive and open to everybody of all levels who want to rest! If you are over 6 weeks pregnant you are welcome to attend, however please mention when booking.
